Someone yesterday right around 3:10 PM MST became my 50,000 visitor.
Congratulations, whoever you are, and thanks to all the rest of you for sticking around that long.
No, Dave, congrats and thanks to *you*!
How did you figure that out? I have NO IDEA what # of visitor I’m on…. my counters all start at a finite date and usually update.
Nosurfgirl–Wordpress keeps a running tally of all the visitors to your site. It’s not necessarily completely accurate because it doesn’t count the owner’s visits (based on IP address I believe), nor does it count multiple visits from the same IP address in a short period of time. Still, since that is how most website counters work, I guess it’s pretty standard.
I’m a stats person, so I guess that’s another reason that I like WordPress over some of the other blogging engines. WordPress, in my opinion, actually does a very good job of helping me know what is popular and what you, my readers, like to see on the blog. More than once, it has helped me either continue a series or end one earlier than planned.
