The MAN of Star Wars!!!

Last night, we were listening to the Olympic theme song with Katherine and enjoying the wonderful music. After it finished, one of the related links that YouTube gave us was for the the Imperial March from Star Wars (both were written by John Williams, one of my all-time favorite composers). I clicked on that one, and Katherine was really excited. She knows Star Wars from Lego Star Wars, and knows many of the characters, if not the movies.

I asked her who the Imperial March was about, and she replied in this truly excited voice, “It’s about the man of Star Wars!!!!”

Darth Vader has never seemed so frightening…. 🙂

By the way, if you’ve never heard the entire Olympic theme, it’s a true treat. All the little pieces you hear on TV are small pieces of the entire song. There are very few songs that are emotional for me, but this is one song that just swells with hope, faith, possibility, and love. I’m deeply moved each time I hear it.

    That’s definitely a good one.

My favorite is Copeland’s Fanfare for the Common Man. Also an olympic theme.

Imperial March- one of the absolute best pieces of music Williams has ever done! By the way, Sarah, I have many of Williams’ full scores on CD if you wish to borrow them sometime. Dave can get hold of me. 🙂
