There are very few reasons we turn on the TV anymore, but the Olympics are probably one of the top two reasons. I adore everything about the Olympics and watch every single event I can, including Curling (winter), Rhythmic Gymnastics (summer), and Weight Lifting (summer). There’s just such a great feeling to the Games and to the unity they bring.
On a somber note, I was very sad to see that a Georgian Luger (Nodar Kumaritashvili) was killed yesterday during his training run. It’s a sober reminder of the difficulty of the sports and, perhaps more particularly, the great skill and passion many of these athletes have. Such tragedies should never happen.
Now if I could just find a way to take the next two weeks off work and park myself in front of the TV….
