I’ve been tagged by my sis. It’s the first time to be tagged on my blog, although it’s happened several times through e-mails. I’ll admit that I normally ignore tagging since the questions tend to be kind of silly I think, but these five questions were actually kind of fun. And I really enjoyed my sister’s responses. So here we go…
What I think
I think that there is a lot of bad in the world. But I also think there are wondrous treasures of peace and beauty to be found. I think that too many people waste their energy on things that don’t matter while ignoring the things that do. I think that if more fathers understood how much they matter to their wives and their children, we’d eliminate a great majority of social ills. I think that spending the day with my family is more important than spending the day with my job. I think that Christ matters and that my own testimony of Christ is the greatest possession I own as well as the greatest gift I can ever give.
What I like
While it is exhausting, I love nothing more than playing “ROAR!!!” with Katherine. We run around the coffee table in the living room roaring like monsters until I catch her and tickle her to death. I like cheese. I like a good chocolate yum-yum. I like to do finances. I like to write (make that love). I like a good strategy game with family and friends. I like to talk to people. I like to see Courtney grow as a mother. I like to see Katherine grow as a daughter. I love to read her stories at night and sing her a song. I love to sing. I love to dance. I love editing and grammar and linguistics. I love to drive. I love red-heads (only one will ever have my heart though). I love Harry Potter.
What I know
To keep this simple, I know that Christ is the Savior, and that is the single most important thing I know. I also know that M&Ms calm the most violent chocolate craving.
What I want
This was my favorite response from my sister. One of her wants was for “robots to not take over the world.” I think that’s a goal we can all live with.
I also want to provide a stable future for my family. A long-time wish of mine is to get my family to a point where I can retire very young, become a stay-at-home dad, and let Courtney accomplish all her deepest heart-felt desires. I want Courtney to go to school and open her own art gallery. I’ve always been impressed by Sister Hinckley’s comment that her husband “always gave [her] wings to fly.” If I die with that on my tombstone, nothing else I have done will matter more. I also really want some of those M&Ms.
What I see
Right now, I see a plate of plastic fruits and crackers that Katherine gave me for breakfast. I see my wife laying on the couch feeling quite unhappy with morning sickness and trying to sleep it off. I’m trying not to see the walking mess that is my daughter.
There you have it. Now who to tag… I think I have to chose the person I think is most likely to do it… Nosurfgirl!!! You’re up!
