In January, I wrote about how Courtney experienced a miscarriage. Well, we have some news that we’ve been sitting on for a few weeks.
Courtney apparently didn’t miscarry. Or maybe she did. Or… well, we really don’t know what happened; we’re still trying to figure it all out. Right now, there are a couple possibilities:
- Multiple eggs, some miscarried, some took hold.
- One egg, heavy bleeding and cramping, but no miscarriage.
As we’ve researched this a bit over the last few weeks, apparently both possibilities aren’t really that uncommon. And when it comes right down to it, we don’t really care.
Personally, we’re elated. We’re grateful for the experiences we’ve had and for the learning. While the miscarriage may or may not have happened, the experience was real for us as was the trauma and sadness.
On a lighter side, we get a kick out of thinking that we basically skipped the first trimester! How’s that for shortcuts?
